Mission Christmas - Cash For Kids
Look out for the designated gift drop area from the 12th of November until the 17th of December in the break out area in the Council HQ building.
MFR Mission Christmas say ... ‘MFR Cash for Kids is the charity arm of Moray Firth Radio. We are a grant giving charity raising funds to give children in the Highlands and Moray a brighter future. We are just about to launch our Mission Christmas appeal.
For many of us Christmas is a time of joy, a reason to celebrate and spend time with loved ones but for the families we support Christmas is a time of dread. These children will fear going back to school after the festive break when others are talking about what they got from Santa and playing with the latest gadget.
With your help we can change this.
We ask our listeners to purchase an extra gift while out doing their Christmas shopping and donate it to our appeal. We will then ensure it reaches a child who, without our help, would wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.
We ask for new, unwrapped gifts for all ages up to 18. We particularly struggle for babies and teenage boys. Generic items and everyday essentials are best such as blankets, bibs, bottles and developmental toys for babies and toiletries, rucksacks, stationary, water bottles, footballs, sports socks, hats, scarfs and gloves for teenage boys. Last year we noticed that we were getting more and more applications requesting everyday essentials that many of us would take for granted such as underwear, hats, scarfs and gloves.
We aim to give every child in the region of £50 of worth of gifts but we can only do so with your help.’
If you have any questions or would like to help please give Dionne McLennan a call on ext 3252 or dionne.mclennan@moray.gov.uk.
