Last chance to submit your application for The Wee Winter Walk Challenge
You’ve probably heard that we should all aim to walk at least 10,000 steps per day to be considered as active and not sedentary ….. but do you? With Christmas and New Year packed away for another year would you like to lose a few of the extra calories from all the mince pies eaten.
To encourage a little more activity the Heathy Working Lives group challenge you to walk 10,000 steps per day during February, it can include ALL steps taken during the day, doing the housework, at the gym or whatever your daily routine entails – you’ll be surprised how quickly it adds up. To make it a bit more fun, register a team and encourage each other to keep going.
You will need:
• A team of 4
• 4 pedometers
• The commitment to walk 896km or 1,120,000 steps between you over 4 weeks (5 – 12 – 19 – 26 February)
All teams that register will compete to finish all stages of the walk first – so try and aim for a bit more. We will publish everyone’s results in the news section of the interchange every Monday. Who will be crowned champion?
