Employee Survey 2025
The Employee Survey 2025 is live!
10 March - 04 April 2025
The Employee Survey is a way of gathering your views and letting us know how you feel about working for the Council. Our 2025 survey is now live until 4th April and we would really like to hear from you.
This is your chance to have your say about how you feel about working for the Council and the responses you give will play a critical role in shaping our workplace culture. It’s an opportunity to share opinions, thoughts, and give feedback on what is working well and on areas that can be improved, highlighting examples of best practice and identifying areas where focus is required to enhance job satisfaction.
We are asking you to share your views so that you can influence what happens next. A high response rate is important in ensuring that as accurate a picture as possible is provided of what most people think; the good, the bad and the not so sure. If you have any questions about the survey, such as ‘what’s the point?’ or 'what happens if I give negative responses?’ then look at the FAQ’s page. If you still have queries then please ask your line manager or a member of the OD team.
The survey asks a range of questions about all aspects of working for the Council. The information will be used to check whether work done from previous surveys is still relevant and having a positive impact and also to identify where more work is needed.
The survey is one of the few ways we can compare how things are across different services recognising the diverse range of functions and roles we deliver. Whilst we all have very different roles, there are common themes across the services such as leadership, communication, training, change, and culture that we can gather information and learn from your experience.
This is a way of sharing your views anonymously to help guide decision-making in the Council, so it is important that you take this opportunity to have your voice heard and to contribute to creating a better working environment. The results are important so that the views of the workforce can be shared with Elected Members for their consideration.
It is really important that you take the time to complete the survey and the more people who take part, the stronger and clearer your voice will be. That’s why the survey is available electronically (the survey can be accessed using this link Employee Opinion Survey 2025) and it has been provided in paper format for those with no computer access. It can also be accessed using this QR code -
We are asking all colleagues to complete the survey, and you will be allocated time to complete it when at work. We hope most will complete the electronic survey however there are paper copies for those with no computer access. Also, we appreciate that many of our staff work in frontline services so that can be a challenge to find time for this. In these service areas, your team meetings will be used as an opportunity to talk and distribute the survey; we will also be undertaking a number of drop-in sessions across these frontline services to allow an opportunity for front line staff to complete the survey there and then.
We are working collaboratively with the recognised trade unions to encourage engagement and participation – the Moray Council and Trades Union Joint Statement can be found here.
We are proud of the progress we have made. But there is still more to do, and your input can help to tell us what that is. If you want to improve your workplace and tell us what is good and what we need to improve on, then use your voice and complete the survey!
If you’ve any questions about the survey please contact Clare Alexander, OD Adviser, at clare.alexander@moray.gov.uk.
A voice does make a difference so please take the chance to use yours.
