Get outside this summer

The school summer holidays are with us once more, so let’s make the most of the outdoors before the darker nights start creeping in.

Why not take advantage of the 90+ play parks and playing fields that Moray Council maintains. You can find out where your closest playpark is or see them all on the map by visiting our Find a playpark page.

In addition, listed below, are some of the other choices that are available in Moray to help inspire you and your family to get out and enjoy the great outdoors:

  • Maps of core paths across Moray
    These include public roads/roadside paths, off-road paths and more. Pull on your walking boots and get exploring
  • Parks, gardens and playing fields
    Here you’ll find information on our parks and gardens, as well as how to book pitches and pavilions.
  • Biblical garden
    Take a stroll around the garden in central Elgin and enjoy the sights and smells.
  • Find a forest
    Enter ‘Moray’ into the region box on Forestry Commission Scotland’s website to see a list of all their local forests
  • Moray Ways
    A comprehensive directory of cycle routes, hill walks, horse riding routes, health walks and waterways. Search by activity or by area
  • Moray Council harbours
    If you have or are hiring a boat, check out our harbours. You can pay for a visitor berth online or buy a rover ticket
  • Moray and tourism
    Information ranging from local history and heritage sites to explore, sports and leisure and countryside and nature links.
