Supporting Individual Performance

This session aims to equip supervisors / managers with the basic skills and knowledge to help staff maintain and improve good attendance and performance at work. It will explore welfare, motivation and feedback. Its focus is not exclusively ‘underperformance’ but it will refer to the early informal stages of, e.g., the disciplinary and grievance policies.

What will it cover?

On completion participants will be better able to:•Respond helpfully to welfare and wellbeing needs of the employee (within limits of role)

  • Explain some basic motivation theories
  • Identify employee’s core motivations at work
  • Give timely, respectful and effective feedback
  • Identify relevant Council policies and processes
