Positivity, innovation, passion, partnership working, leading by example and vision to promote the Active Schools programme produces great statistics for Moray Council to be proud of, which is testament to Roy’s efforts dedication and commitment.

The staff at Cullen Primary School demonstrated an excellent response in a very challenging situation where the extensive refurbishment of the school is having a huge impact on the learning environment for all and in how staff undertake their various roles. Going above and beyond expectations to have the school fit for pupils to return after the summer break demonstrates their commitment to their roles, ability to work as a team and working under pressure.

Through innovation and a committed approach the team have exceeded the day job by developing an initiative to the benefit of Head Teachers across the Council which has had a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing whilst dealing with a period of change and uncertainty themselves.

The Fleet Services Team has risen and responded to the challenges of service delivery through a focus on professional development, service improvement and efficiency by identifying and implementing adaptations and new ways of working. With operational effectiveness and safety paramount, they have worked as a team and in collaboration with various functions, to improve their service through training, development, upskilling and apprenticeships in order to meet the needs of the Council and also reduce costs and enhance income generation, with the Energy Saving Trust noting their achievements in the recent Fleet decarbonisation report.

Moira has demonstrated dedication to Community Learning and Development from undertaking her own personal training whilst in post and supporting and guiding countless others in the CLD team over many years of change and development.
Moira’s commitment to CLD has helped establish a highly motivated and inspired team that has had an enormous impact on learners and in the community, and the many strands Moira is central to developing (such as Adult Learners’ Forum, Adult Literacies, Essential Skills, Family Learning, Employability, Refugee and Resettlement Team, ESOL etc) is testament to the impact she has made in the team and wider community.
