We’re going to be delivering letters to properties over the next week or two changing some glass routes to make them easier to manage – ONLY glass routes will change. An example letter can be seen here.

We’re going to hand deliver letters, these will have new amended calendars on the back. Confirm/calendars are being updated as the letters are being delivered (I’ve changed the below ones on Confirm and will run a calendar update tomorrow).

An email is being organised to be sent to all last years (23/24) garden waste permit holders who haven't yet purchased a permit for this year (24/25) - approx. 6217 emails.

A link is being included in the email for all customers to purchase online however there may be some that still call to purchase.

Emails will be sent in batches over the next few days.

Update 25/04: Please note you may have calls come in from customers requesting to be taken off the reminder emails notification list. If these come through just raise them as normal through to the Waste Team - the emails are sent out to customer email addresses that hadn't purchased this year, so doesn't account for if they may have phoned in or used a different email address instead this year. Any questions raise via the Seniors.

PTU have paused Elgin Bus 3 from 1253 today as driver is having issues with tablet connecting to network.

Note added to inform remaining customers the bus will still pick them up.

The above has been returned as 'addressee gone away' under a Mr Nathan Hargreaves, just for awareness incase he phones in.

This has been noted on the case for the purchase.

Paul Jamieson Elgin Bus 1 has had an issue this morning with his tablet and the following not picked up –

Hazel Christie to Cedarwood 0935

Both have been contacted but no reply so message left on answerphones. If they get in touch we can arrange alternative.

Driver is away to their next collection, PTU are trying to get the list printed for him which he can pick up when he returns.

The above Excess Charge Notice has had the £60 payment period extended until 5pm on Friday 26 April 2024. This has been marked on the database. The customer’s names are Elizabeth and Peter Goddard, 4 Birse Park, Elgin - vehicle registration FN56 HSD.

At 5pm tonight a script change will go Live on the Roads Maintenance script. This pertains to providing information on the Roads Maintenance service, without raising a case.

The option for Information Provided has been added under DD > Direct > Roads and Transport > Roads Maintenance Enquiry, alongside other options such as WDM Enquiry, etc.

This new route will direct you to the webpage for Roads Maintenance and offer the opportunity to send an email to the customer with this link so they may raise online fault reports themselves. It also provides a way out of the script without raising a case if this is needed for any reason.

Of course, if you have any issues whatsoever please pass via your Senior in the first instance.

Payment for the above will be allowed at £60 if paid by 5pm on 17 April. If possible can you please take the payment against the invoice number. The customers name is Kathryn Roper but the invoice was raised to Daniel Howes, Coignafearn, Hermitage Street, Dingwall.

The A941 is currently closed due to a road traffic incident near Rothes Glen Fishery. Road closure signs will be erected at Elgin and Rothes - no signed diversion in place and drivers are advised to use alternative routes.

Due to further mechanical plant failure, we are having to close Waterford Recycling Centre early today.

The site will re-open at 9am tomorrow.

Please note that the instructions to Create a WDM Fault Report has been updated. Please ensure that the date and time any enquiries are received into the Council are entered into the Additional Information.

Due to mechanical plant failure we are unable to accept the following materials at Waterford Recycling Centre until further notice:

- Soil, rubble, green waste, wood or cardboard

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, we hope to have the issue rectified Monday 8th April, however an update will be posted to confirm.

Update 09/04/2024: Waterford Recycling Centre, Forres - normal waste acceptance has resumed 08/04/24.

Due to vandalism, the public toilets in Grant Park in Forres have been closed until further notice for repairs can be carried out.

The Waste Team have carried out a review of all the households who have not returned their 360ltr bin renewal forms for the past few years.

03/04/24 - The Waste Team are still catching up following the breakdown so there is a chance they won’t get all of today’s bulkies uplifted.

As yesterday please advise householders to leave their bulky out and the team will collect it as soon as they can.
