Please note that Moray Council was unsuccessful in its bid for monies from Scottish Govt Cash First project to replace Flexible Food Fund, which was exhausted in August 2023 and therefore any requirement for help for everyday living costs in a crisis should be referred to Scottish Welfare Fund.

Given that we’re moving closer to the end of the year, customers may start to contact us regarding the possibilities for accessing the Flexible Food Fund.

This fund is currently not available, however, I am aware from recent discussion with the Benefits Manager that MC are looking at funding from the Scottish Government for this (this part is not to be mentioned to members of the public).

If you receive any contact from customers regarding the FFF, please simply follow the DD script using the options for Development, Financial Inclusion, IMT/BRCH/FFF & following the FFF route which will raise a case to the Financial Inclusion Team.

Cases should be raised to the team but not necessarily asking for the customer to be called back, you can simply say that it was for information regarding a customer making enquiries about a Winter FFF payment.

As soon as any information is available regarding the FFF and if payments will resume for winter 2023, we will ensure this is posted on the HUB news pages.

Following contact from a parent regarding her child’s NEC card and them not being able to access money that they had previously added to the card, I noted that there was a lack of information on the NEC pages regarding School Meals which meant that customers had no option by to come via the AccessMoray Email or phone lines to the CC.

On discussing with Moray Council’s catering manager, I have arranged for ICT to add a new link called “School Meal Support” to the left hand-menu of the NEC page which links to the School Meals, Uniforms and Payments web pages, see link below:

The school Meals, Uniforms and Payments pages can also be found on the A-Z under S for School Meals and anyone accessing can view details for Primary, Secondary & Nursery Meals as well as contact details for the Catering Team.

Hopefully this link should reduce confusion for customers, if you have any questions please direct these via seniors in the first instance, thank you.
