When a customer Emails in to report either a Bin Not Serviced (aka missed) or a Damaged Bin, please reply to the customer thanking them for their Email and advise them that you have provided them with the following link to allow them to report their issue directly to the Waste team - Domestic Collection - Moray Council.

Once successfully completed and submitted by customers, both of these forms go directly into Confirm missing Customer Services out although it’s worth remembering that Customer Service staff with access to the Waste Screens on Lagan will be able to view any reports made by customers and actions taken by the Waste staff (please note though that call backs are generally not made to customers reporting missed bins).

These forms have been in operation direct to Confirm for at least 12 months but it seems that not all customers like to use them so by providing them with the link it’s hoped that we will help to reduce the number of Emailed reports for either of these that we get into waste@moray.gov.uk .

Please note the Waste Team will be unable to accept metal, wood or rubble at ANY recycling centre between 20th December 2023 and 7th January 2024 due to the outlets which we take these materials to being closed.

Colletction of these materials will resume 8th December 2024.

If you receive enquiries that have images attached, instead of forwarding them in an email to RoadsAdmin to accompany the case, please attach them when entering the fault information in PIP.

PIP Grit Bin Requests

The waste team have advised that due to a mechanical breakdown Waterford Household Waste Recycling Centre will be closed until further notice.

An update will be provided when the site re-opens.

Household Waste and Recycling can be taken to our Recycling Centre at Chanonry, Elgin without a booking while Waterford remains closed.

12:25 - The waste team have advised that the issue has been resolved and the site will re-open as normal at 12:30pm

The Waste Team have raised an alert to say that Waterford is closed today – there is an issue with the hall door so can’t get the digger out.

The team are hoping to have the site back open again tomorrow.

Update 13/12/2023: Please be advised Waterford is closed this morning due to a mechanical fault - this is being added to the service hub for customer awareness and an engineer is on their way out to resolve the issue. The team hope to reopen this afternoon.

Update 11:20 - Please note this has now been resolved and access is resumed to Waterford.

Just to let you know that Waste are out of stock of 240ltr blue bins, they are on order, but delivery is not due until the middle of January.

The team will deliver 140ltr until the 240ltrs come into stock.

The online purchase of Garden Waste permits for the 23/24 year will close on Friday 8th December 23. After this date customers will no longer be able to buy a permit for this year online. Customers can still request by exception only a permit via telephone as per the scripts.

More information on when the 24/25 permits can be purchased will be updated onto the Information Hub as soon as it is received.
