If you have ever wanted to make a real difference to a young person’s future, Career Ready is a brilliant opportunity to do exactly that.
Career Ready is a social mobility charity that connects young people with employers through mentoring, paid internships and workplace learning. By volunteering as a mentor, you can help a young person build confidence, develop workplace skills and feel more optimistic about their future.
The programme is designed to give young people meaningful support from someone in the world of work and operates over an 18-month period as shown below:

For young people, the impact can be life changing.
Career Ready reports
- 91% of students say the programme raised their career aspirations
- 87% of alumni say it had a positive impact on their life
- 98% progress to positive destinations in education or employment.
For mentors, it is also a chance to develop coaching, communication and leadership skills while giving something valuable back to the community.
Career Ready has found that 89% of mentors rated their mentoring and coaching skills as excellent or good by the end of the programme, compared with 40% at the start.
