Moray Council staff invited to shape new physical activity strategy

Moray Council staff are being invited to take part in a new consultation on Active Moray - a long‑term strategy that aims to make physical activity and sport a normal part of everyday life across the region.
Active Moray sets out a shared vision to support healthier lives, stronger communities and reduced health inequalities by increasing participation in physical activity. The draft strategy has been developed with a wide range of national and local partners, including including NHS Grampian, UHI Moray, TSI Moray, Moray Leisure Centre, Public Health Scotland, sportscotland and Scottish Disability Sport.
A consultation is now live on Moray Engage, giving staff, residents, communities and organisations the opportunity to help shape the final strategy; and it will run until 5pm on Monday 23 February.
A key focus of Active Moray is tackling health inequalities and improving access to physical activity for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Evidence shows that inactivity remains a significant challenge in Moray, contributing to a growing number of long‑term health conditions.
Colleagues are invited to take part, either from a professional perspective or based on personal experience. Feedback will help ensure the strategy reflects real barriers to being active and supports practical, inclusive solutions across Moray.
