Debt Awareness Week 24

Seeking debt advice can be a struggle for many people, even during the ongoing cost of living crisis. Whether it’s the stigma about debt problems, uncertainty about advice or you aren’t sure where to go, just know you aren’t alone.

Debt awareness week 2024 is focusing on looking at the main reasons people don’t get debt advice, and how they overcome those barriers. This campaign is led by the UK’s leading debt advice charity StepChange. They will be sharing hints, tips, and useful guides throughout the week as part of their campaign and you can access these through their website.

Within Moray, the Money Advice team as part of Money Advice Moray is a free local service where anyone struggling with debt can seek confidential and non-judgemental advice.

The debt can be any type, ranging from a single missed payment to large arrears. The team will be on hand to help with financial struggles such as rent/mortgage loans, council tax arrears, small payments or anything that may have left you with little or no money for other everyday needs. The team can discuss the various options available to deal with the debts and work with you to come up with an appropriate solution.

If you would like to discuss your situation or to arrange an appointment, please contact Money Advice Moray on 0300 123 4563.
