M365 Project Update
COVID has transformed the way that many people work and Moray Council is no exception. Pre COVID there was a daily average of around 30 to 50 members of staff that worked from home – now we have between 600 and 700 on a daily basis. This has brought many benefits to the individual and organisation alike. These new ways of working will also bring possible efficiencies that can assist the Council in the coming years, however it has also highlighted the need for a new set of collaborative tools that allow greater flexibility in communication and collaboration.
In the height of the pandemic we rapidly rolled out MS Teams as a video conferencing solution to allow the Council to continue providing services during a difficult time. It is now time to look at providing greater functionality, and put together a standard set of tools which can be made available to all staff.
The M365 Project started back in January 2022. So what is M365? M365 is a licenced based bundle of products aimed at improving flexibility in communication and collaboration. Over the next 2 years we will be rolling out access to the new products. However before we do there is a lot of backend configuration and testing that needs to be carried out. After we have done this we will be setting up departmental trials, these are scheduled to start in the 3rd quarter of 2022/23. The trials will let us test both security and functionality. We are looking forward to hearing what you think of the products.
