Employee Self Service (ESS)
All Moray Council employees have 24/7 access to a fully secure and user-friendly Employee Self Service portal (ESS).
All new employees MUST now enter their own Bank Account Details directly to ESS to enable them to get paid by BACs on their pay day.
You can also:
- View and update all your Personal information and view your Employment information
- View and download your current and historical Payslips and P60’s
- View your record of Sickness Absences
Getting started:
Your Username and password will have been emailed out to you already from payroll@moray.gov.uk
Username: will normally be your firstname.surname but check your email to make sure
Password: for your first login it will be set as your National Insurance number in the following format:
First 2 letters in upper case, 6 numbers, last letter in lower case
Click on the Login button
You will be prompted to set a new password which must consist of Upper case letters, Lower case letters and numbers and be at least 8 characters long.
A secondary Memorable Password will be required. The Memorable password must contain between 8 and 38 characters and include upper and lower case letters and numeric characters. It cannot contain spaces and must not include your main password.
Before you continue, please confirm your main password below for verification.
- Password: This will be the first password that you created when you logged in.
Click on Save.
You will be issued with a Recovery Code at the Final Step. This MUST be copied and kept in your own personal area on your device.
Click on this Launch ESS button. PLEASE NOTE: ESS only supports Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers.
