Care Day 2026
Care Day 2026 takes place on Friday 20 February and is the world’s biggest celebration of children and young people with care experience, and as usual, the Care Day flag will be raised at Moray Council headquarters to mark the occasion.
Now in its 11th year, Care Day brings organisations and communities across the UK and Ireland together to recognise the achievements, talents and contributions of care experienced young people. The day is coordinated through the 5 Nations 1 Voice alliance and continues to highlight the importance of hearing and amplifying the voices of those with lived experience of care. This year’s theme, “Voices that Care”, reflects the creativity, insight and leadership shown by care experienced young people across the nations.
Beyond the celebrations, Care Day provides an annual moment to acknowledge the diversity of care experience and the many journeys young people take. It aims to increase understanding, challenge misconceptions and shine a light on the strength and resilience found within the care community.
