Pedal Power: Join the movement on cycle to work day 2025!
Cycle to Work Day 2025 is rolling in on Thursday 7 August, and it’s the perfect opportunity to swap four wheels for two and discover the benefits of cycling to work. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a total beginner, this nationwide event encourages everyone to give commuting by bike a go - for your health, your wallet, and the planet.
Why cycle to work?
- Health boost: cycling is a low-impact, high-reward way to stay active. Just 30 minutes a day can improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress, and boost mental well-being.
- Eco-friendly: ditching the car helps reduce carbon emissions and traffic congestion, making your commute part of the climate solution.
- Cost-effective: with rising fuel and transport costs, cycling is a smart way to save money on your daily commute.
- Feel-good factor: there’s something empowering about starting your day with fresh air and freedom on two wheels.
How to get involved
- Cycle to work: limber up and get in the saddle.
- Encourage colleagues: organise a group ride or a friendly workplace challenge to get more people involved.
- Check your gear: make sure your bike is road ready. Some local bike shops offer free safety checks in the lead-up to the event.
- Share your journey: post your ride on social media using #CycleToWorkDay to inspire others and join the online community.
