RTS meter switch-off: what you need to know
As you may already know, the previously planned mass switch-off of Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) meters on 30 June has been replaced with a gradual phase-out.
However, energy regulator Ofgem is still urging customers with RTS meters to have them replaced as soon as possible.
If you have an RTS meter and are contacted by your energy supplier to arrange a replacement, please do engage with them and take up the offer.
Important: Be alert to scams. If anyone contacts you asking for payment related to your meter replacement, it may be fraudulent – your energy supplier will never ask for money to carry out this work.
