Civic Leader Christmas message
Here we are again at the end of another busy and productive, if challenging, year.
For many of us the festive period is a chance to relax and unwind with family and friends and I hope all staff will have the opportunity to do that at some point in the coming weeks.
During the holidays it’s business as usual for some of our colleagues who work hard to provide the public services we all rely on: our carers, looking after our loved ones; roads crews keeping our roads and pavements clear; and those on call including social workers, tradespeople carrying out emergency repairs in our 6,000 council homes, and our out-of-hours team at Cameron Park Brae. I thank you on behalf of our residents, and the council, for your commitment to providing essential services over the festive break.
I extend those thanks to all of you for your hard work over the last year, we’ve seen some big transformations in the council and the success of that is down to the whole workforce pulling together. While we are all small cogs in a big local government machine, each of us diligently playing our part keeps that machine moving.
I look forward to continuing to work with you all in the new year, but for now, have a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year.
Cllr John Cowe,
Moray Council Civic Leader
