MFD Printer Contract Update
After a re-tender of the MFD printer contract we’re moving from Xerox to Ricoh with progress in switching supplier continuing.
ICT have completed the build of the new infrastructure required for the software and equipment. We’re currently waiting for Ricoh to complete installation and configuration of the software for both the corporate and schools networks and some test equipment to be delivered to start testing the devices.
A list of the existing equipment at each site has been shared with Ricoh with information regarding the volume of prints going through each device. This has allowed Ricoh to look at the most suitable and cost-efficient devices to install and to identify opportunities to reduce the number of devices, as printing habits have changed significantly over the lifetime of the current contract.
During the testing of the software and new devices we’ll hold a drop-in event for budget managers, areas with high and specific printing requirements, and for staff that help support devices to view the new devices prior to installation and roll-out.
The drop-in will provide an opportunity to access the devices, the chance to discuss with Ricoh specific needs at individual sites to ensure the requirements are being met. We’ll also get the chance to understand the features of the new software that manages the devices, providing improved management information to better manage and understand the print volumes, helping to drive down cost and reduce the environmental impact from printing.
Dates for the event and further updates will be provided as we progress with the testing of the new equipment.
