Let's Talk Menopause

Where to find support
Menopause is an individual experience and transition, however it is widely recognised that menopause and perimenopause can have a big impact on the individual’s life, including relationships and work. However, there are things that can be done to help with symptoms and support is available if you need it.

The NHS recommend lifestyle changes including eating well, exercising and looking after your mental wellbeing will help with symptoms. Suggestions include getting plenty of rest and trying to keep a regular sleep routine.  Calcium rich food to keep bones healthy and talking to others going through the same thing, such as family, friends or colleagues.

You can also speak to a health care professional: A GP, nurse or pharmacist can give you advice and help with your menopause or perimenopause symptoms.

UNISON Moray are also delivering a free ‘Let’s Talk Menopause’ webinar on Tuesday 28 March 2023 from 6 – 8 pm. This is being delivered by Ruth Devlin, who founded Let’s Talk Menopause with the purpose of raising awareness and providing information on the menopause. There is information available for anyone experiencing the menopause and for managers and colleagues supporting those going through the transitional stage in their lives.

Moray Leisure Centre also run dedicated Menofit classes and cafes. These are exercise classes that are aimed at those affected by the menopause. More information can be found at:
