Debt Awareness Week

With the cost of living crisis still in full effect people from all corners of society are feeling the impact. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, we’re seeing a greater number of people seeking financial help, many who previously may not have experienced financial difficulty in their lives.

With that in mind the Debt Awareness Week 2023 is focusing on how debt can happen to anyone and aims to make people more aware of the advice and resources available for them and where to find them.

The Money Advice team as part of Money Advice Moray (MAM) is a free local service where anyone in moray struggling with debt can seek confidential and non-judgemental advice.

The debt can be any type, ranging from a single missed payment to large arrears. The team will be on hand to help with financial struggles such as rent/mortgage loans, council tax arrears, small payments or anything that may have left you with little or no money for other everyday needs. The team can discuss the various options available to deal with the debts and work with you to come up with an appropriate solution.
