Seagull Nesting

Over the coming months we’ll be sharing messages about preventing seagull nesting, discouraging the feeding of gulls, and responsibly disposing of rubbish to prevent seagull-related mess in our towns and villages.

First up, it’s around taking action to prevent gulls nesting on your roof. If you own your home you can install bird deterrents; if not speak to your landlord.

You’ll need to prove you’ve taken preventative steps to deter nesting, to secure a licence to remove nests or eggs. Licences are required for each individual property, and can’t be granted if chicks have hatched.
