On the move

Our website needs a refresh, so we are migrating it to a new, more modern platform.

By upgrading we will provide our customers with…

  • Better user experience and accessibility for all residents.
  • Modern design that reflects council professionalism.
  • Enhanced security and support for mobile devices.
  • Streamlined communication and online services.

How to prepare for the new corporate website - check your service pages

As we prepare to migrate content to our new external corporate website, we’re asking all staff who act as administrators for service or team webpages to take a few moments to review the pages they are responsible for.

This review is essential to ensure that only accurate, relevant and up-to-date content is migrated. It will help us avoid carrying over outdated information, duplicate content or broken links, and ensure the new website provides the best possible experience for users.

If you’re an admin for a webpage, please review your content and:

  • Check that information is current and accurate
Make sure descriptions, contact details, opening times, prices, policies, deadlines and named roles are all correct.
  • Remove pages that are no longer needed
If a page relates to a service, project, or activity that no longer exists, or is covered better elsewhere, please flag it for removal or delete it if you’re able to do so.
  • Fix or remove broken and outdated links
Check all internal and external links to ensure they still work and lead to relevant content. Remove links to archived documents, old campaigns or external pages that are no longer suitable.
  • Identify content that should be migrated
Highlight pages that are still actively used and genuinely helpful for customers, partners or colleagues. These are the pages we want to prioritise for the new site.

Migrating unnecessary or outdated content makes the new website harder to manage and harder for users to navigate. By reviewing pages now, you’ll help ensure the new website:

  • Contains only high-quality, relevant content
  • Is easier to maintain in the future
  • Provides clear, reliable information for users
  • Launches smoothly without avoidable clean-up work later

Only the most relevant, up-to-date pages should be migrated to the new website. Pages that haven’t been reviewed risk being excluded or needing urgent work later in the process.

We will be working with teams to improve the content on our website over the coming months. This will include making sure content meets accessibility standards, tone is consistent and language is appropriate.

If you’re unsure whether you’re an admin for a page, or you need help reviewing or removing content, please contact Gavin Griffin or Marc Roberts in our Website Team for support.

Thank you for your help - your input is crucial to making our new website a success.
