Training
There are four levels of training in relation to trauma informed practice and these are:
The relevant training levels are being developed for staff within Moray Council and a calendar of events will be added to this page.
Who really needs which level of training?
Looking at Level 1 – trauma informed – it highlights that this includes taxi drivers, however is that enough for those taxi drivers who transport children or young people to and from school, who may reside within a residential service? What about those who transport adults to hospital appointments? They may be interacting with people who are known to have experienced trauma and may need to respond to potential disclosures or behaviour linked to that trauma.
Is it just for frontline practitioners?
There is the Scottish Trauma Informed Leadership Training (STILT) programme developed for those in leadership and / or management roles. This programme is under review for future delivery within Moray.
Service relevant training.
Each service within the Health and Social Care Partnership, as well as the Council, has its own tasks, priorities and purposes. Trauma Informed training has been developed to support a number of services, specific to their needs and developed in conjunction with the Trauma Informed Practice Development Officer, Liz Russell.
