Annual Leave - remember use it or lose it!

As we head towards the end of the calendar year remember to plan in any remaining annual leave days you have left. All leave needs to be used before the 31 December (except for teaching staff) and leave may not be carried forward from one year to the next.

In exceptional circumstances where due to the needs of the service you have been unable to take all of your leave, speak to your manager now to see how they can support you with planning time off.

Whatever your job, annual leave is often a crucial part of it. Our minds and our bodies need proper breaks from the workplace – and regularly! In fact studies have shown that people who take time away from the job can have physical and mental health benefits including a better outlook on life, improved mental health and self-motivation to achieve goals.

It is recommended that staff use their leave proportionately across the leave calendar year and hopefully that means you will only have a few days left to book in. Speak to your manager now and make sure you have planned in all your leave entitlement and enjoy some time off for that well deserved ‘R&R’.
