Welcome to your vote week – Your Voice Matters

Monday 29 January to Sunday 5 February

Join us and get involved with the Electoral Commission’s Welcome to Your Vote Week 2024 – the annual celebration of democracy encouraging young people to get involved and use their voice.

This year’s theme, chosen by young people across the UK, is Your Voice Matters – we’re celebrating how everyone’s voice matters, and how everyone can make an impact on the issues important to them by getting involved in democracy. Whether that’s casting a vote, starting a petition, or taking part in a youth forum, there are lots of ways to make your voice heard and show that your voice matters.

Making sure that young people have the knowledge they need to get involved in democracy and elections is important - you can help by:

  • holding a youth vote which makes a real impact
  • running a voter registration drive for your young people
  • delivering the Electoral Commission’s lesson plans (or one of your own!)
  • organising a Democracy Day in which your young people design their own voter registration campaign
  • playing democracy themed games
  • creating fun social media content
  • or something completely different

Sign up to the week to receive your downloadable posters and social media graphics, or head to the Electoral Commission’s website to take a look at all of their education resources.
