Libraries summer reading challenge
Moray Libraries are challenging primary age children to get on their marks for a national reading challenge over the summer holiday.
This year's theme is Ready Set Read! It’s all about keeping active and the power of play, sports, games and working together.
Kids can go on line to sign up or visit their local library where they’ll receive a special collector folder to guide them through a fictional summer obstacle course brought to life by characters from children's illustrator Loretta Schauer.
Every child sets their own reading goal and each time they finish a book, comic or even an audiobook, they can return to the library to collect special stickers as a reward.
The reading challenge, organised with the support of Youth Sport Trust, aims to keep imaginations moving over the school holiday. By taking part, youngsters will have the opportunity to explore new reading material, develop skills, and discover new interests.
Visit your local library to find out more about the challenge and to discover activities and events for families to enjoy.
