Electric Vehicles - Charge Cable Tips
21/08/2024
Charge Place Scotland (big white units) advise drivers to disconnect from the unit first, then disconnect from the Electric Vehicle as they find for most stuck cables that the driver disconnected from the EV first.
When it comes to disconnecting, they also recommend drivers pushing the cable in a bit too, so it’s not resting against the locking mechanism then attempting to pull the cable out of the socket.
Worse case scenario, call CPS for assistance, to see if they can get the cable released, without the need for powering off or rebooting the units.
Easee (the black units) advise drivers to push the cable completely in to the unit, hold the touch button (the dot above the light strip) for 2 seconds and then pull out the connector if the cable is stuck when disconnecting an EV.
Any problems with the vehicles please report the faults on the interchange under Property and Facilities - Pool Cars and Bikes.
