Mobile Testing Unit located in HQ Annexe car park
09/12/2021
From Monday (13 December) a section of HQ Annexe car park will be in use as a walk-in Mobile Testing Unit. This is for PCR testing for symptomatic people, or those who have been asked to take a PCR by Test & Protect (not for those who require PCRs for travel).
It’ll be open to the public from Monday – Friday until 24 December, and re-open on 5 January, before a review at the end of January.
Cones will remain in place for the duration to cordon off the section of the car park, to prohibit vehicles from driving in this area.
Welfare facilities for the teams manning this unit will be provided at HQ Annexe; the disabled toilet just past the entrance from Glover Street will be designated for these teams only, and access will be from either Glover Street entrance or the emergency exit at the service area to the building, minimising contact with Council staff.
Remember: Even if you have no Covid symptoms, you’re encouraged to regularly test using lateral flow devices – especially in the run up to Christmas as we may be out and about socialising and shopping more frequently. You can visit a community testing station to be tested on-site, or collect LFD kits for use at home. Pharmacies also offer LFD collection, or they can be ordered online.
