Career Ready Mentors... Are YOU Ready?

Becoming a Career Ready mentor is a fun, flexible way to inspire a young person, unlock their true potential, and guide them through the early stages of their career journey.

You work one-to-one with a student and can have a real impact on their development, supporting their studies with advice and real life experience. It’s also a great opportunity to develop your own coaching skills and spot future talent: 72% of employers would hire their Career Ready intern at the end of the programme.

Mentors meet their assigned student, talk to them, learn about their dreams and their reality, listen to their fears and areas of indecision and guide them to finding their own answers.

The interns also need to complete a four-week internship where they work on a project of real value to them and to the Council.

We have signed up to this two-year programme and have pledged eight mentors every year.

We have a few mentors ready to go, but we need four more by the end of June!
