IMPORTANT: SAMH IT Systems affected by Ransomware Attack

Please be aware that the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) has fallen victim to a ransomware attack which has rendered many of their IT systems unusable, including email. As a precaution, a number of Scottish local authorities (including Moray) have placed a temporary block on all emails from SAMH (i.e. xxx@samh.org.uk) to mitigate against the risk that the attackers could use this to further attack other Scottish public sector organisations. Out-going emails to SAMH will also be blocked to prevent any sensitive information from being sent to email addresses which may not be secure.
At this stage we’re unable to give any indication as to how long this block will remain in place, we will be taking guidance from the Scottish Government on when the SAMH email system can be considered safe and secure.
