Update - Planned ICT Works – Sat 31st August
29/08/2019
Update: Following discussion with Property Services and the equipment maintainers, the planned works will now commence at 9am on Saturday 31st August. There will be a temporary loss of power within the HQ Annexe building at this time, thereafter there will be further losses of power from 1pm as the emergency generator is tested to confirm the success of the works.
As previously advised, due to the nature of the works there is a small possibility of wider disruption to ICT systems during the period that the work is taking place.
Original: Property Services in conjunction with ICT will be carrying out critical maintenance work on the specialised equipment used to protect the main power supply to the HQ Annexe building, including the council’s main data centre. The work is required to replace some failed components which control the activation of the emergency generator in the event that the power fails.
The works will commence at 1:00pm on the 31st August and are expected to last 2-3 hours. During this time ICT systems will remain available, however please note the following:
• There will be occasions where there will be a temporary loss of power within the HQ Annexe building. As such all equipment (not just ICT equipment) in the main office area, including meeting rooms and interview rooms, will be affected;
• Due to the nature of the works there is a small possibility of wider disruption to ICT systems during the period that the work is taking place.
