Introduction of Parking Charges

Parking charges at the Greyfriars Street and the Annexe car parks in Elgin are set to be introduced this summer. This is one of the measures approved by councillors to generate income to achieve a balanced 2019/20 budget.
Parking permits will be required to park in these two car parks between 8am and 6pm, Monday – Friday. Permits will cost £20 per month, which can be paid for through payroll deduction.
To comply with parking legislation, a consultation is currently under way; statements of support or objection can be sent to carparks@moray.gov.uk or as detailed on the official notice: www.tellmescotland.gov.uk/notices/moray/traffic/00000204666. The consultation closes on 3 May.
