Working from Home: Access to ICT

Due to the Weather conditions the number of flexible and mobile workers that are working from home has increased significantly over the last two days. Unfortunately there is a limit to the numbers of users that can be accepted on the VPN at any one time. If this limit is reached users will receive the message “Login Failed”

To assist home workers during this adverse winter period, can we please ask that users only connect when they require full access to systems. i.e. Users that have their own dedicated laptop have the ability to work offline and obtain email by smartphone. If these users could log on only when they need access to updated files or network software this would assist those using pool laptops.

If the problem continues and staff require full access to systems they may need to consider attending their nearest Council Office to obtain a connection.
