Scottish Apprenticeship Week

It’s Scottish Apprentice Week, and there are events taking place across Moray to celebrate the benefits of apprenticeships, both to organisations and jobseekers.
According to Skills Development Scotland, at the end of 2016 there were 703 apprentices in training in Moray alone. But more opportunities lie ahead, with a target of 30,000 Modern Apprenticeship starts in Scotland each year by 2020, new Foundation Apprenticeships for school pupils and Graduate Level Apprenticeships.
Here, we currently have 15 apprenticeships working for the council, mostly in traditional trade positions. Watch the video below to see how Darren Wells, apprentice technician at Ashgrove Depot in Elgin has benefitted from an apprenticeship position with us.
