Global Gaelic Week 2023
Start Date: 20/02/2023
End Date: 24/02/2023
Moray will be celebrating with a range of free activities thanks to funding from Bord na Gaidhlig:
Starting with Coffee and Craic on Monday 20th we welcome learners and speakers to the Elgin Library at 3pm where they can chat and peruse our range of Gaelic books, plus fluent speakers can pick up the Cleachd i materials. Add your Gaelic footnote now with pride!
On Tuesday 21st, we are delighted to welcome Ian Taylor, a former native of Elgin, who will give an on-line TEAMS talk (in English) on the persistence of Gaelic in what we now know as the Moray Council area, into the 20th Century. It will be held from 7-8pm and book via Karen.Delaney@moray.gov.uk
Dallas Primary School pupils will be sharing their new Gaelic skills in a big secret that involves Keith Community Radio!
Friday is all about future planning and we have invited holders of Gaelic Plans who cover Moray to come together at UHI Moray to share practice and look at possibilities for better partnership work and the sharing of resources. Roddy McLean, broadcaster and journalist will introduce the session with an input aptly called “Moray and Gaelic.”
