On-line safety training

Start Date: 06/09/2017

End Date: 06/09/2017

Venue: Elgin Academy

Respect me, Scotland’s anti-bullying service is offering FREE practical on line safety training for adults in Elgin.  The training is designed to increase adults’ awareness of bullying and the other risks and challenges that children and young people face on line e.g. explaining how children’s postings and pictures are as safe as possible on line.  A national bullying survey in 2014 found that 48% of children and young people who were bullied told their parents, and 92% bullied on line knew the person bullying them.

Parents and carers are encouraged to attend the session on Tuesday 5th September 1230-1430 at Elgin Academy community room OR 1900-2100 hrs at Elgin Town Hall lounge.  A further session for people who work with children or young people will take place on Wednesday 6th September 0930-1130am at Elgin Academy.
